Gaspe, Quebec, CA

Overview

Canada would not be primarily French if it had not been for a storm that sent Jaques Cartier to Gaspe on July 24th, 1543. Here, Cartier took possession of Canada in the name of the King of France. Since then, Gaspe has been an important fishing port, specializing in cod. With gorgeous rivers, lakes, and bays to fish from, seafood here is fresh and lauded. Gaspe is also known for its beautiful rock formations and seemingly endless parks, abundant with wildlife and plentiful foliage.

Ship Location

The ship docks just 1 mile from the downtown, so walking is an option, and so is taking a vehicle for transportation, as there are taxis, buses, and shuttles waiting at the Welcome Center of the port.

Getting Around

Getting around the town of Gaspe is easy, as there are many forms of transportation, or even just taking a walk is an option as well.
